One always knew the Kerala Chief Minister as one man who would stoop to any level to portray BJP and Modi as the evil dictator whilst he portrays himself as the hero of the state of Kerala who keeps the Fascists at bay whilst at the same time shamelessly stealing credit for all of the Central Government Initiatives.
Of the latest publicity gimmicks he has flagged off in Kerala against Modi and the BJP administration is the one called “Save Lakshwadeep” which like every other Communist propaganda is against the modernization of the island and introduction of alcohol to boost the tourism sector.
He and his communist party this time seem to be concerned about the sentiments of the majority of the island which are 95%+ Muslims who don’t consume alcohol according to him and his party and this move needs to be fought tooth and nail. One is made to wonder at the same time why he doesn’t give a rats ass about the majority on the mainland that he is also responsible for at the same time.
We as the public are now used to this Publicity Mongering and Hypocrisy displayed by the Kerala CM day in day out. But one of his FB posts against the Sangh Parivar agenda not only exposes his hypocrisy and propaganda to stay in power but also his sheer stupidity and ignorance.
In one of his recent posts (Archive link) the Kerala CM has accused Sangh Parivar to have promoted “Saffronization” on the island by painting coconut trees in saffron in the Union Territory governed via the administrator he claims to have links with BJP. Even though Kerala media and troll websites from Kerala will completely ignore this stupid remark which is still available online on the CM’s page, this saffron paint on trees is an agricultural practice of painting “Geru Mitti” on trees to protect the trees from fungi, insects, and termites that make the trees hollow.
Leftist media forerunners were no different. Portals like Telegraph India ran detailed reports on the same “Saffronization move” on Lakshadweep Islands. Archive link of the same can be accessed from here.
Applying Geru Mitti on the tree trunk is an old-aged practice in India. Even countries like Malaysia interested in adopting such a practice. Such practices Sinopia (geru) and lime applied on tree trunks to prevent fungal attacks. Sinopia is acidic in nature. The alkaline characteristics of lime, on the other hand, are beneficial. Sinopia and lime, when applied correctly, can help manage the fungus in such trees. Sinopia, which has acidic qualities, is applied to the bottom portion of the trunk to prevent the fungus from spreading, while lime, which has alkaline qualities, is applied to the upper half.
Social media users also pointed out how CPI-M party workers had painted trees red using enamel paint in Kottayam Medical college for welcoming Pinarayi Vijayan on his visit to Kottayam medical college. Malayala Manorama news report cutting from Social Media on the same given below.
Twitter users had great laugh at the communist ignorance of agricultural practices in India.
