The 3.5-century old Synagogue partially collapsed in rain on 9th September 2019. There were rumors that said it was brought down by the locals. According to the protestors, if the synagogue becomes a protected monument, it won't be possible to carry out any other construction work in the area of the synagogue perimeter. This is untrue, there is no such law is ruled out in the particular site.

Constitution of India guarantees freedom of religion, stating the right of an individual to choose her religion. This is not in question. It prohibits conversion due to inducement, undue influence, coercion, or use of any threats to anyone. But, this right is misused, forced and compelled.
No Muslim I know feels unsafe in India at least in my part of the country because he is a Muslim. There may be some Muslims who feel unsafe there may be some Hindus who feel unsafe but it has nothing to do with belonging to any community. It’s time to look inwards. We are victims of each other but also protector of each other too. Muslims are not safer or more unsafe as compare to other Indians.
